Come join us for a rich and inspiring opportunity to perform in a new multimedia theatrical bellydance production and to connect with other dancers in the beautiful town of Hawi on the Big Island of Hawaii!
Invaders of the Heart: The Return is a multimedia dance theater production from renowned choreographer and director Myra Krien, featuring the Mosaic Dance Company, the Starbelly Dancers, Drake Von Trapp, and Kamrah. By exploring sacred symbols of rebirth, renewal, ecstasy, and our inextricable interconnectedness with the natural world, The Return looks to the past as a touchstone for examining our present and building our collective future. With prominent artist Michael’s Bergt paintings as a striking backdrop for the dance, this collaboration is both visually stunning and powerfully prescient for these times.
Public Choreography Workshops:
Saturday, March 22nd
10am-12pm: The Sun - Learn an energetic fan veil choreography.
1pm-3pm: Wheat - Learn this wheat harvest choreography inspired by the Turkish Kashlamar.
Sunday, March 23rd
10am-12pm: Baskets - Learn this dynamic choreography utilizing basket props.
1pm-3pm: Sympathetic Magic, Spirals & Celebration - Learn 3 powerful choregraphies exploring sacred geometry in dance.

Residency Schedule: Monday, March 24th-28th. Performance at The Barn on Saturday, March 29th.
Residency Includes:
-Instruction in original choreographies by Myra Krien
-The opportunity to perform for a live audience
-A chance to wear some of Myra Krien’s hand-crafted, gorgeous costume pieces and props from her collection during the performance
-A truly priceless experience of bringing this artistic, collaborative vision to life on stage!
These residencies are a great way to grow as a performer and will offer opportunities for networking and bonding with activities and informal dinners (not included in the retreat fee).
The participation fee is $650 per participant per production and can be paid in full or a payment plan can be requested. *Lodging, food and travel expenses are NOT included in residency fee*
A non-refundable deposit of $100 needs to be paid when signed up (and will be applied to your residency fee) in order to confirm your space in the residency/performance.
